Not to be confused with Racial Nationalism.

Ethnic Nationalism is the counterpart ideology to Civic Nationalism. Instead of believing that nationality is based on common shared institutions and values, it believes that it's shared by common ethnicity and views it as the primary pillar of citizenship.

  • Slobodan Milošević - Slobodan Milošević was the first president of the Republic of Serbia (1991-1997) and the third president of the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia (1997-2000). Even though he had held previous posts, he appeared to gain political traction in Serbia in 1987, in which he declared his support for Serbs who he claimed were being oppressed by the ethnically Albanian provincial government of Kosovo. He called for the reduction of Kosovo's provincial autonomy, protection of Serb minorities and a strong crackdown on separatism in the region. Even being accused of nationalism to a large extent, even though he had denied it.

When in power Milošević was known for his authoritarianism and brutality, which, inspired by Aleksandar Ranković, used brutality and oppression against ethnic Albanians in Kosovo. He participated in the Yugoslav wars, especially in Kosovo, an example of which could be in 1988, when partisan meetings of the Anti-bureaucratic Revolution led to cries like "Give us weapons!" and the more segregationist "Long live Serbia — death to the Albanians!". With the repression against Albanians, he also repressed Islam and Hoxha's supporters in Kosovo and supposedly tried to create "Greater Serbia", in order to become a " second Tito ".

Other things could also be the transition from one-party to multi-party, even though he had been accused of electoral fraud, establishing a Kleptocracy, Autocracy and Authoritarian Nationalism. There was police brutality against political opponents, and there was also a state-capitalist mixed economy, he put up trade barriers to encourage local industry in addition to an increase in labor laws, but in 1998 he proposed a liberal economic reform that would have trade barriers and privatization of state-owned companies, but it was overthrown in 2000 because of losing the Kosovo war and accusations of falsifications.

Mahathir Mohamad: In 1981, Mahathir was sworn in as prime minister following the resignation of Hussein Onn. During Mahathir's first tenure as prime minister, Malaysia experienced a period of rapid modernization and economic growth, and his government initiated widespread industry privatization and a series of bold infrastructure projects. Mahathir was accused of several allegations, which are:

  • Dictatorship: He used the controversial Internal Security Act (now repealed) to detain activists, non-mainstream religious figures, and political opponents in Operation Lalang (1987) and later his Deputy Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim, whom he fired in 1998. Mahathir's record of curbing civil liberties and his antagonism towards Western interests and economic policy made his relationships with Western nations difficult. He was also responsible for the eventual removal of the Lord President of the Supreme Court, Tun Salleh Abas, triggering the 1988 Constitutional Crisis.
  • Anti-Semitism: A strident critic of Israel, Mahathir has been accused of antisemitism since at least as far back as in The Malay Dilemma in which he wrote that "Jews are not merely hook-nosed, but understand money instinctively". Apart from claiming that Jews control the international media, economy and "ruling the world by proxy" and getting "others to fight and die for them", besides disputing the number of Jews killed in The Holocaust.
  • Racism: Apart from his controversial statements on the Chinese and the Indian communities in his book The Malay Dilemma despite being of Indian-Muslim descent from Kerala, India, he further said of Najib; "a prime minister who came from 'Bugis pirates' is now leading Malaysia". He remarked, "go back to Sulawesi", which aroused discontent from the Bugis descendants in Malaysia and Indonesia who protested against him, including the royal members of Selangor and Johor.

After quitting UMNO for the second and last time due to his dissatisfaction with Najib Razak, Mahathir established a new party named "Malaysian United Indigenous Party" (PPBM) and co-operated with former parties from Pakatan Rakyat to form Pakatan Harapan, which the coalition won in the 14th General Elections in 2018. Despite being appointed as the Prime Minister of Malaysia for the second time, his views on ethnicity, Islam and Jews, remain unchanged.

In February 2020, developments commonly nicknamed the Sheraton Move (Malay: Langkah Sheraton) involved Parliament members from Barisan Nasional, Gabungan Parti Sarawak, Parti Islam Se-Malaysia and the "Cartel faction" led by Azmin Ali from Parti Keadilan Rakyat saw the ousting of the elected Pakatan Harapan government and the resignation of Mahathir, after 22 months in power. They were replaced with the Perikatan Nasional government under Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin. After being sacked from his own party months later, he later formed a new political party, named "Homeland Fighters' Party" (PEJUANG).

Ethnic Federalism

The Ethnic Federalism that preaches a Federalism with the federal units are defined according to the ethnicities, so that different ethnicities are concentrated in certain localities. Generally, Ethnic Federalism is implemented as a way of meeting ethnic demands, giving autonomy to certain ethnicities, avoiding interracial conflicts, reducing unequal treatment between ethnicities by the central government and establishing ethnic equality (in the case of Ethiopia), in addition to the development of culture in their homeland.

Even with good intentions, Ethnic Federalism carries some problems, such as problems when drawing the borders between units, difficulty in tracing ethnic identity and the implementation of the system, in which it can generate an increase in secessionism that generates an increase in state repression. , increased drafting within units, and ironically, increased interracial conflict. Examples of Ethnic Federalism are Ethiopia under Meles Zenawi, Bantustans in apartheid South Africa, post-independence Pakistan from East Pakistan (Bangladesh), Yugoslavia, present-day South Sudan and Nepal.

Personality

Ethnic Nationalism has similar mannerisms to a 14 year old /pol/tard on 4Chan, saying and doing edgy things for shock value, like using slurs or putting up signs associated with certain, very frowned upon groups. He also uses phrases associated with the far-right like "based" or "redpilled". He's rarely seen getting along at all with his brother, Civic Nationalism, and he often times criticizes him for being a "cuck" towards foreigners.

Relations

Based Department

Frenemies

  • Rankovicism - Depends on the type of nationalism but Milosevic was based.
  • Racial Nationalism - Nationality should be based on ethnicity, not on race!
  • National Anarchism - You're okay, but your anarchism goes against the ideas of an ethnoSTATE.
  • Anarcho-Fascism - You want an ethnostate, but with no state? What?
  • Cultural Nationalism - A nation's culture is defined not just by its traditions and customs, but also by the people themselves who created them in the first place.
  • National Liberalism - Brataniu was based but nowadays you're too cucked on ethnicity issues.
  • Totalitarianism - When you help create an ethnostate thru loads of genocide you're based.
