Prohibitionism

Prohibitonism, or Anti-Alcoholism refers to the movement to ban the manufacture, sale, and consumption of alcohol. It was a significant social and political movement in the United States and other countries in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. The goal of the prohibitionist movement was to reduce the negative social and health consequences associated with alcohol use, such as drunkenness, domestic violence, and crime. Drinking alcohol is considered haram in Muslim countries, and therefore Prohibitonism is applied there.
