Ideology
Progress and the wheel are fundamentally similar by their nature. They both necessarily roll forward to take its owner to where it must be. But without something to stabilize that wheel, it bumps and turns about without reason from the smallest, most insignificant pebbles. So, the wheel needs a car to hold it steady. Morality and reasonable tradition shall serve as the car to progressâs wheel, because without tradition, progress becomes Oikophobia, and tradition becomes ignorance without progress.
Morality and patriotism (or, at least, remembering who we are) is complementary to progress. In fact, the idea that all cultures are equal is reactionary and nonsensical. American culture, being best at providing liberty, is then best in the world. Most other cultures do not value liberty to our extent, because their culture is usually founded upon an ethnicity instead of an ideal. This is, ultimately, what makes America special; being founded upon an idea instead of something superficial. I find Europeans (and Europhiles, such as Canucks) particularly egregious in this regard; they claim to value liberty, but then go and arrest someone who is critical of their government or of certain religionsâŚ
